Muhammad Afzal Tahir

Article Abstract:

Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir, Chief of the Naval staff, Pakistan Navy, has stated that Pakistan is seeking the acquisition of naval vessels from the U.S., China and France in an effort to expand its fleet size as well as to increase its contribution to the multinational Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 under the Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan. He has discussed the progress of the country's procurement program.

Mexican standoff: Overstretched navy battles political uncertainty

Mexico's Navy requires agility to be able to handle the numerous security threats it faces due to its geopolitical position on the southern border of the U.S. and the northern tip of South America. However, a change in the country's political administration in 2006 has stopped the progress and the Mexican Navy is waiting for the results of a review of force structure and organization.
