Mumbai bombings signal sustained rail terrorism trend
Article Abstract:
Terrorist attacks on trains and metro rail systems in cities such as Mumbai, London, Madrid, and Moscow indicate a sustained interest by terrorists in exploiting the often-open aspect of commuter rail infrastructure to execute mass casualty attacks. A comprehensive suite of counter-measures, spanning intelligence, technology and procedures must therefore be used to displace terrorism from the railway environment.

Counter-terrorism successes force Algerian militants to evolve
Article Abstract:
Even as Algeria appears to have succeeded in defeating the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, in reality the threat to the Algerian regime cannot be discounted. The militants' apparent inactivity does not necessarily mean they are defeated as the group seems to be evolving from an Islamonationalist insurgent group into a more atomized movements, attempting to align themselves with the global Jihad.
