Naking LPD-17 fit the warriors
Article Abstract:
The Navy and the Marine Corp are actively involved in the design of the new naval amphibious ship called LPD-17. Naval and company engineers use the Integrated Product and Process Development plan in the design and construction phase of the LPD-17 project. The plan allows changes in decisions, improves shipbuilding quality and is financially sound. This process will result in a combat-ready and efficient landing ship that would make the Navy and the Marine Corp more effective in their missions.

Where are the battleships?: Marines ashore will lack responsive naval fire support until after 2010
Article Abstract:
The US Marine Corp's ability to conduct amphibious operations is hampered by lack of fire support from naval forces due to lack of warships capable of delivering high explosive ordnance on enemy targets. However, Battleships has the guns and weapons systems that can provide an effective naval fire support that can enhance forced-entry missions, lessen casualties and increase the rate of success for Marine and Army amphibious operations.
