New static power conversion technology
Article Abstract:
L-3 Communications-EUROATLAS GmbH has won the contract to design, develop, manufacture and provide service support for a new 60 Hz and 400 Hz solid state power conversion system for the new Clas 212 submarine. The company is using the zero-voltage switching and zero-current switching technology in its DC/DC converter design. The higly-efficient topology results in high power density, high system efficiency, reduced cooling requirements and less conducted and radiated emissions.
