SAR-21 for Singapore
Article Abstract:
The Singapore Assault Rifle for the 21st century or SAR 21 was conceptualized in 1993 by the Chartered Industries of Singapore as a replacement for the M16 rifle issued to the Singapore Armed Forces. The key features of the SAR 21 rifle are its integrated day/night sighting capability, reduced recoil, full automatic controllability and additional safety features. In addition, the rifle is lighter and shorter than the M- 16.
