Saab Dynamics - competence in missiles

Saab Dynamics of Sweden is one of the major suppliers of the Swedish Defence Forces. One of the company's main areas is in the development and production of missiles and anti-ship missiles. Saab also creates other marine defense products such as anti-submarine grenades, electro-optical systems for naval use and special electronic warfare systems for naval warfare. One of its well-known products is the RBS-15 series of missiles, which has a strong export market.

Kockums contract for Stirling propulsion unit
Article Abstract:
Kockums Naval Systems has been chosen to further develop the Stirling propulsion unit for the next-generation submarines in a contract awarded by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The contract, valued at about SEK 50 million, is the first phase of a development program covering six years. The air-independent Stirling engine allows submarines to stay submerged for weeks instead of days.
