Row breaks out over two-tier NHS service
Article Abstract:
The West Midlands Health Service Monitoring Unit has accused the district health authorities (DHA) of South East Staffordshire amd Bromsgrove and Redditch of implementing the so called two-tier service in order to secure finances. Under the system, DHAs give priority to patients of fundholders to ensure institutional income. The financially-strapped district services have denied the allegation, stating that doctors and not financial people determine patients' needs.
