TCG SALIHREIS
Article Abstract:
Blohm and Voss AG of Hamburg, Germany, has delivered the TCG SALIHREIS frigate to the Turkish Navy in early 1999. The ship is the seventh to be added to the MEKO 200 Class series which was started in 1982. TCG SALIHREIS is a general-purpose frigate with surface warfare as its primary role, but is also capable of anti-air warfare against anti-ship missiles and aircraft, antisubmarine warfare and electronic warfare. The ship is equipped with a sophisticated combat system called the STACOS FD Mod III.

Submarine Class 212
Article Abstract:
The Federal German Office for Military Technology and Procurement has signed up the Working Group 212 to build four submarines of Class 212 (U212) for the German Navy on Jul 6, 1994. Delivery of the first submarine is slated on Sep 30, 2003, with the fourth on Sep 29, 2006. The Working Group 212 is a cooperation initiative between submarine-building shipyards Howaldstwerke-Deutsche Werft AG in Kiel and Thyssel Nordseekwerke in Emden.
