The probability for disaster may be exaggerated but the incident of UK Royal Marines (RM) which was left abandoned with no armour support specifies the drawback in ship to objective manoeuvres (STOM), the capacity to acquire comparatively lighter armour like the CVR (T)s ashore. It is stated that solving such problems will avoid such offloads in future and will not have to undergo the similar difficulties.

France seals joint carrier investment

Article Abstract:

France signed a deal, whereby it pays up to GBP100 million towards the design costs of the UK's future aircraft carrier (CVF). France would be able to use the knowledge gained to produce a conventional partner for the nuclear powered Charles de Gautle, currently in service with the French Navy.
