The radar game
Article Abstract:
A study of three different threat environments of the future was conducted to help illustrate the role of signature reductions in aircraft survivability and in air campaign planning. The study used a simplified version of a common air defense simulation model. It also focused on the improvement of aircraft survivability in specific scenarios through the use of combined stealth and Electronic Countermeasures (ECM). Results indicate that the use of advanced Low-Observable aircraft paired with other benefits derived from ECM will keep US' airpower sharp.

Training in networks
Article Abstract:
The Air Force's Distributed Mission Training (DMT) allows pilots to experience concerted training with other pilots assigned in another area. With advanced telecommunications and aircraft simulators, pilots can view the land activity, enemy interceptors and virtually all conditions of combat without leaving their home stations. Various forms of DMT are being developed by the Air Force, including the DMT-A for Air Combat Command and DMT-C2 for AWACS training.

The radar game
Article Abstract:
The US military's continuing air domination is anchored on the stealth features of its aircraft fleet. Radar technology and other air defense systems have improved over the years, but the US Air Force has always been a step ahead as evidenced by the resounding success of its air attacks over Iraq. Stealth, in combination with other advantages of electronic counter-measures, will keep the edge of US' airpower sharp.
