Seapower: The next generation: In search of an unconventional war construct

Article Abstract:

A fourth-generation warfare (4GW) concept involving the Navy needs to be developed in order to combat the asymmetrical warfare adopted by insurgents. An unconventional 4GW maritime capability of the Navy would enable it to engage in bridging the land-sea interface and assisting Marine Corps in their ground missions by working in close coordination to control insurgent infiltration through rivers and other illegal activities like smuggling needed to sustain an insurgency.

Modernizing logistics intelligence

Article Abstract:

It is argued that for maintaining the centralized pool of intelligence personnel at the headquarters even while the force service support groups (FSSGs) are transformed. Moreover, organizing and equipping intelligence to best support the logistics decisionmakers is debated.
