UAE's Baynunah project gets go-ahead

Article Abstract:

Abu Dhabi Ship Building will build six missile patrol boats for the United Arab Emirates under the Baynunah project. This is the first occasion that modern naval boats of this kind will be constructed in the Gulf region. The decision on the 60 m vessels represents an important stage in the country's naval procurement program that could result in a fleet of 12 new patrol boats. Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie of Cherbourg in France will help with the design and technology transfer.
