Movie-industry profiteering, and unjustified movie/audio industry paranoia about bootlegging, may ruin chances for worldwide acceptance of DVDs, just as it did with laserdiscs. DVD movies are being released in global zones, US first, which is both protectionism, and bad business strategy.
