Article Abstract:
An exhaustive side-by-side listening test, combined with an intense technical evaluation, failed to resolve claims of superiority by Dolby Digital (DD) and Digital Theater Systems (DTS) - the two major movie surround-sound systems. Several technical barriers to comparisions are analyzed. The claim by DTS that it's higher sampling and compression rate produces better sound is unvarifiable.
