A family's terrifying odyssey
Article Abstract:
The Brahushi family lived in Southwest Kosovo until Mar, 1999, when the Serbian military told them to leave their house or be killed. Hours earlier, the Serbs' barracks were bombed by NATO. The Serbs destroyed the Brahushis' neighborhood with flame-throwers, killing and beating ethnic Albanians. The family hid in their basement for 10 days before fleeing the country for Albania.

Not much to celebrate
Article Abstract:
The military operation in Kosovo is not defending any conventional definition of national interest. It cannot be argued the situation in the Balkans threatens the security of the US. The Serbs are fighting for territory, but NATO is fighting for values. If the US fought over values, they would be at war with Saudi Arabia, which oppresses its women.
