A museum reborn: the Art Gallery of Ontario rises from the ashes

The Art Gallery of Ontario spent $58 million on renovations and remodeling in 1992 despite a financial setback. The gallery opened in Jan 1993 with twice the exhibition space and half the staff. The gallery says it now can represent the needs of the diverse population of Ontario.

Gillis, an acclaimed Canadian choreographer and dancer, performed 'Landscape' and other pieces in Toronto, Ontario, during Jan-Feb 1995. 'Landscape' was a homage to her late brother Christopher Gillis, also a dancer, who died of AIDS in 1993.
