Airline plan needed to save jobs: CAW

Canadian Airlines International Ltd must have a concrete rescue plan in order to save its around 17,000 workers, according to the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW), which is one of the carrier's major unions. On Aug 13, 1999, competition rules were suspended by the federal government to enable Montreal, Canada-based Air Canada and Canadian Airlines talk concerning the airline industry's restructuring.
