Supporters of the 'yes' campaign for Quebecois sovereignty seem rather apathetic about the cause. The previous attempt at separatism in 1980 was emotionally charged. The lack of enthusiasm is due to greater cynicism and the emphasis on economic, rather than cultural, reasons for independence.
