French tugboats rammed Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior II on July 9, 1995, soon after the Rainbow Warrior II had entered the waters outside Mururoa, where French military officials may carry out nuclear weapons tests. The incident was videotaped, which harmed France's public image.
