New encryption strategy: typing rhythm

Article Abstract:

Net Nanny International has developed an password encryption program called BioPassword. The program uses a computer's ability to time keyboard activity by the microsecond to measure keystroke pressure and speed and adds this information to a user's password. This makes it more difficult for users to share passwords and online accounts. Musicrypt.com Inc. will use the software to guard its site from unauthorized downloads. Moreover, the password is required each time the music is played. Industry observers anticipate music copyright protection spending will reach $4 bil by 2004.
