At issue: should AIDS-prevention programs for teen-agers focus exclusively on sexual abstinence?
Article Abstract:
Arguments forand against the issue of sexual abstinence as a means to prevent the transmission of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases among teenagers have been discussed. The proponent of such measure believes that cultural pressure have so encouraged sex among teenagers that an increasing incidence ofAIDS, chlamydial infections and human papilloma virus has been noted and it canonly be resolved through sexual abstinence. On the other hand, opponents of sexual abstinence uphold the need for comprehensive sexual education among education as an effective measure for the prevention of AIDS.

Are "abstinence-only" sex-education programs good for teenagers?
Article Abstract:
Some observers argue teen pregnancy has a devastating impact on teen parents, their families, and ultimately the society. These teenagers are in risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and many of these diseases cannot be completely prevented by teaching teenagers to behave responsibly. However, others argue teenagers should be equipped with the best tools to say no, and they should be taught about related issues of contraceptives, risky behavior, and STDs.
