Atomic overreaction: a close look at plutonium's unearned reputation as the pre-eminent poison
Article Abstract:
Plutonium has a reputation as the most toxic substance on earth, but there are no medical case studies that support this view. Epidemiological studies of the effect of plutonium contamination are inclusive. One study found a low mortality among contaminated Manhattan Project workers.
