The new CIA
Article Abstract:
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has to redefine its role and activities in the post-Cold War situation. Experts feel that the Agency will have to concentrate on economic and industrial espionage to safeguard American interests. Instead of diverting most of its resources to the Communist bloc countries the CIA will have to concentrate on Germany, Japan, Asia and the Middle East. Therefore, it will need to recruit more experts in languages and cultures of these nations. Pres Bill Clinton is expected to appoint a new director of the CIA, who will oversee its reorganization and determine its future role.
