Analysts say TD paid hefty price for CT
Article Abstract:
Toronto Dominion Bank's C$7.85-billion or C$67 a share offer for CT Financial Services Inc, a holding firm that owns Canada Trust Co, is too expensive, according to analysts. With its purchase of CT from British- American Tobaco Company Ltd, TD Bank hopes to be the No 1 player in most aspects of retail banking. However, analysts are saying that TD Bank will need to implement major cost-reduction efforts to justify the agreement.
