Brittle Johnnie

Article Abstract:

The Prime Minister of Australia John Howard in March 2004 told the parliament that the share of personal tax as a proportion of GDP had declined from 12.7% when his government was elected in 1996 to an estimated 11.8% in 2003-04. It remains to be seen whether the Labor's new hope Mark Latham would be able to come up with this right combination and would be able to be a taxer.
