Bubble and tweak

Australia's Reserve Bank believes housing prices in the country are still excessive in August 2005, and may have a game plan to deflate the housing bubble, but the future remains uncertain. Experts believe that the contemporary monetary policy, dominated as it is in a deregulated global system by the US Federal Reserve, is creating an inherently speculative or bubble-prone environment.

Dumb and dumber

Australia's uncertain economic future in light of the global recession is being virtually ignored in the election campaign. Ten of Australia's export markets, including the United States and Japan, make up 80% of Australia's exports profits, and all are experiencing effects of a global recession.
