Cami plant wins key role in GM small-car program
Article Abstract:
Cami Automotive Inc., the Ingersoll, Ontario-based company owned jointly by General Motors Corp. and Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd., has been assigned to supply the manufacturing model of General Motor's Delta small-car program. A Cami Automotive spokesperson said the program has yet to receive the approval of General Motors but Cami Automotive officials have already been told that the Ontario plant will be the lead plant for the project. An industry source noted Cami Automotive's key role in GM's new small-car program would result in an investment surpassing C$400 million and creation of new jobs at the Ontario facility.

Magna wins $700 million in contracts
Article Abstract:
Magna International Inc has won new contracts to provide automotive seatings, deals that will raise $700 million in revenues for the company every year. The company refuse to identify the car manufacturers who awarded the contracts, only to say that they are new businesses. Meanwhile, Magna officials are disappointed that the company has not won more contracts that involve using its hydroforming technology, a new process developed in place of conventioal stamping and welding techniques.
