Canfor eyes partner for B.C. mills
Article Abstract:
Canfor Corp. is looking for a partner for its pulp operations in British Columbia. According to the company's chief executive officer, David Emerson, the company wants to consolidate its two pulp mills in Prince George, BC, with those of another undisclosed local producer. Emerson said that the move is part of the company's restructuring efforts designed to boost its profitability. According to analysts, the move is not surprising given the pressure a number of Canadian producers are facing due to lack of demand and a drop in prices.
