Article Abstract:
A few hardy surfers enjoy hitting the waves off Lawrencetown Beach, Nova Scotia during winter. They are willing to brave subzero conditions and ice chunks for the excitement and solitude it provides. Sea Kayakers, windsurfers and scuba divers also practice their sports during winter.

LeBlanc continues to fight for better air quality in Saint John, New Brunswick, despite the death of her close friend and activist Cynthia Marino. Both women suffer from respiratory problems, and Marino died during an asthma attack on May 29, 1995.
