Clashing over copyright: is intellectual property safe in the internet age?
Article Abstract:
Controversy exists on how much improvement is needed for copyright protection of intellectual property in the internet era. The Clinton administration proposed new laws in 1995, but 100 law professors criticized the proposal. Other measures include the creation of an Author's Registry and also a Publications Rights Clearinghouse, which join the Copyright Clearance Center as centralized administrators of authors' royalties for electronic uses. Besides internet issues, the music and movie industries are also concerned for increased protection.

Revitalizing the cities
Article Abstract:
Regional planning is the latest in a long line of proposed solution to the problem of urban decline since the 1940s. The middle class has all but abandoned the city for the suburbs, leaving behind poor education systems, poverty, unemployment and high crime. Moreover, when the middle class leaves, they take their political clout with them, leaving the cities with few political defenders. Regionwide cooperation aimed at urban renewal through limited growth and better infrastructure is discussed in detail
