Even before the opening ceremony of the XVIIIth Commonwealth Games, Four Australian weightlifters were left out of the national team after testing positive to a banned stimulant, and another faced allegations that she sold the stimulant to two of the four suspended lifters. But suspicions arise about it being a set-up to embarrass either the Australian weightlifting regime or the newly created Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.

The family of Alice Woolcock who died at a nursing home wants justice for her, as she was not allowed a dignified death by the nursing home and the hospital in Australia in 2003. An investigation uncovers the widespread allegations that the monitoring and accreditation system of Australian nursing homes is a sham, open to abuse by proprietors who receive up to three months notice before an inspection.
