Combating addiction: Addiction treatment evolves slowly

Article Abstract:

Several steps are being taken by the treatment researchers to find an effective method to help substance abusers to get rid of their addictions by making them understand and adopt new and better behaviors. It is seen that rewarding people who takes steps towards ending substance abuse and providing insurance for the treatment can be a very helpful step to end substance abuse, as an early intervention and a long-term help is always beneficial.

Combating addiction: Stigmatizing abuse

Article Abstract:

The stigma of undergoing a treatment, as well as of being of a lower caste or creed, in addition to the rumors of the presence of several deceptive cures have drastically reduced the number of addicts going for the treatments. Many countries like America and Australia have adopted policies, which deny federal-benefits to substance-addicted people and has hence proved to be quite, though not completely beneficial in reducing substance-abuse.

Combating addiction: Better or worse?

Article Abstract:

The researchers are expecting a tremendous increase in the number of people addicted to substance-abuse, in addition to the development of new and better medications and treatments to cure the problem. The author suggests that the conditions might even get worse, instead of getting any better in the future, as getting addicted or undergoing any treatment only depend on the addicts, their will-power and mental status.
