Philip granted extension for reorganizaition

Industrial services and scrap metal company Philip Services Corp of Hamilton, Ontarion, has been granted an extension to restructure its $1.1- billion debt under bankruptcy protection in Canada until Nov 30, 1999. The company filed for court protection in Ontario and Delaware in June 1999, but its reorganization plan was thwarted when the Ontario Supreme Court ruled that its failed to comply with the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act.

Risk capital investment boosts bone biotech firm
Article Abstract:
GenSci Regeneration Sciences Inc of Mississauga, Ontario, has obtained a C$6.5 million in capital infusion from CI Covington Fund, MDS Capital Corp and Royal Bank Capital Corp in 1998. The biotech, which is developing a demineralized bone powder for the orthopedic and dental market, reported C$13 million in net investments in 1998. GenSci post C$16.3 million in sales in 1998.
