Leitch predicts 20-per-cent growth in revenue, profit

Leitch Technology Corp CFO Reg Tiessen reported that his firm's revenues and profits for FY2000 is expected to increase 20% from FY1999. Tiessen, however, also said that the transition to digital technology in the broadcast and video production industry will make it difficult to correctly predict earnings growth. Leitch executives estimate the market for broadcast and production equipment at $16 billion during the transition from analog to digital.

Payphone firm ordered to cease ad campaign
Article Abstract:
Payphone marketer Universal Payphone Systems Inc of Mississauga, Ontario, has been temporarily ordered by the federal Competition Bureau to stop an advertising campaign that would cause serious harm to potential investors. The bureau said the advertisements contained misleading representations relating to the type and quality of payphones bought, the potential income of investors and the turnkey nature of the investment.
