The social aspects of religion in Australia have changed since 1983. Australians have historically made religious values a core part of their identities, but diversity and controversy are becoming more common. Judaism and Islam are becoming more evident, and women are being increasingly ordained as Episcopalian and Presbyterian priests. There is also growing respect for Aboriginal beliefs.
