AT&T tries to keep balance

AT&T's high-risk bid to build a nationwide Internet and local phone service network has encountered some bumps with the resignation of Leo Hindery as CEO of AT&T Broadband & Internet Services. Hindery's departure reflected his differences with the long-distance giant's top management, including CEO Michael Armstrong. Hindery joined AT&T in Mar 1999 when AT&T acquired Tele-Communications Inc for $59.4 billion.

Turner TV gets a new boss from WB

Article Abstract:

Turner Broadcasting System Inc of Atlanta, GA, has been placed under the care of Warner Bros founder Jamie Kellner on Mar 6, 2001. The move is aimed at improving advertisement sales for the unit, which also includes sports teams such as the Braves and cable networks such as Cartoon Network, TBS, TNT and CNN. Kellner's promotion as CEO was approved by Ted Turner, who founded Turner Broadcasting in 1970.
