Century Mining Corporation closed a $25.9-million deal to take over the Sigma-Lamaque gold project in Val-d'Or, Quebec, Canada during September 2004. Miss. Kent, CEO states that Sigma-Lamaque, in Quebec's historic Abitibi gold belt, can be profitable at gold prices of $325 (U.S.) an ounce.

Inco posts record quarterly profit ahead of takeover by CVRD

Toronto-based Inco Ltd. has posted highest quarterly profits in its 104-year history as nickel producer. This is the last earnings report for Inco as the public company, as it is going to be acquired by Iron ore miner Companhia Vale do Rio Doce.
