Article Abstract:

President Clinton's supporters and lawyers celebrated when U.S. district Judge Susan Webber Wright excluded evidence regarding Monica Lewinsky from the Paula Jones sexual harassment law suit. Clinton's and Lewinsky's lawyers can contend that the federal perjury statute has not been violated, because it only covers perjury about "material matters." However, Wright's decision is subject to appeal and she did not rule that any evidence related to Lewinsky is not material.

Must a parent testify?

Article Abstract:

Kenneth Starr's prosecutors questioned Marcia Lewis, Monica Lewinsky's mother, before a grand jury about her daughter's alleged affair with President Clinton. Starr questioned at least two Secret Service agents about whether they noticed anything between Lewinsky and Clinton when she worked as an intern at the White House. These events gave Clinton's lawyers an opportunity to attack Starr, who is criticised for his prosecutorial practices.
