Berukoff owns extensive mining interests in Canada and is currently developing two mining sites in Cuba. He also has formed a partnership with the Cuban state corporation to build 11 hotels in the country. Berukoff is a personal friend of Fidel Castro, and recently entertained him in Vancouver.
