Article Abstract:
Villagers, whose families lived for generations under the Galle beachfront, located in the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, making a living out of fish and fresh coconuts for juice have been told not to rebuild within 100 meters of the coastline by the Galle Municipal Council. Many are skeptical of this decision, as they believe that the foreshore is going to be sold to foreign interests for high-rise homes and hotels.
