Foetal signs
Article Abstract:
A research team at Molecular Genetics Services at Monash IVF, Melbourne has developed a new test to detect foetal abnormalities such as Down syndrome and cystic fibrosis as early as five weeks gestation thus allowing the women to decide earlier in their pregnancy whether to have a termination. The test has the potential to supersede current prenatal test because it is quicker, less invasive and most importantly provide parent-to-be with a much earlier diagnosis of genetic problems.
