Andrew Motion is thought to be Britain's new poet laureate. Motion will not discuss the subject, but the decision is expected to arrive soon after the memorial service of previous poet laureate Ted Hughes. Motion is a creative writing professor at the University of East Anglia, a member of a small group of the Arts Council, and has appeared on television.
