Halliburton Uses Loophole to Reduce Payouts at an Upstate New York Unit
Article Abstract:
Employees of Dresser-Rand Co., once owned by Halliburton Co. were denied almost half their pension benefits, when they were asked to take pension pay outs. Although the employees would like to sue, there is no basis for a case due to a loophole in the Economic Growth and Tax Reconciliation Act.
