Howard's health hazard

The way the Australian Prime Minister John Howard is exploiting his political control over a demoralized opposition to return to his ideological roots is highlighted. Howard is offering low-cost gap insurance for the out of hospital services that exceeds $1000 every year, which is also seen as a way for him to return to his roots.

Privately owned hospitals in Australia should benefit from an influx of new subscribers to private health insurers, thanks to new policies instituted by the government. Hospitals will now have to try to distinguish themselves to attract patients and their money.
