Sweet Art, a company in Olathe, Kansas, makes cake decorating machines out of H-P Model 695 inkjet printers. After modification and getting a new enclosure of stainless steel, the inkjet printers spurt food coloring instead of ink, on top of frosted cakes. Bakeries and supermarkets buy the modified machines for $4,000-$10,000.

I.R.S. Says Americans' Income Shrank for 2 Consecutive Years

Internal Revenue Service data shows that overall income reported to the I.R.S. shrank in 2001 and 2002. Unprecedented, the declines in reported incomes were due to the bursting of the stock market bubble and the decline in wages and jobs that paid well.
