Callbeck is an overwhelming favorite in her Mar 29, 1993, reelection bid, with polls giving her 69% of the vote. The certainty of her election victory seems to have tempered her enthusiasm.

Article Abstract:

Newfoundland's Premier Clyde Wells has decided to step down after six and a half years of being in office in hopes of attaining anonymity. The Liberal party has lost popularity since Wells entered office, as revealed by a 45% approval rating in 1995 compared to 82% in 1990.
