Article Abstract:

Parent will preside over six federal bielections called for Mar 25, 1996, that could break the tie between the separatist Bloc Quebecois Party and the Reform Party. If the tie is not broken, Parent will have to rule on point of order demanding that the issue be decided by all opposition politicians.

Old faces, new jobs: Chretien turns to trusted MPs for his new cabinet

Article Abstract:

Chretien's new cabinet is primarily made up of politicians from his first administration, with 28 out of 36 serving in the previous government. Some cabinet ministers have new portfolios, and Chretien did try to increase regional representation, but Ontario and Quebec politicians still dominate.
