It's beer vs. baseball

Baseball great Roger Maris helped August Busch, Jr.'s St. Louis Cardinals win the world series in 1967, so the owner of Anheuser-Busch gave Maris an opportunity to buy a beer distributorship in Florida. In 1997 the beer company terminated its agreement with Maris Distributing Company, charging its operations were deficient. Anheuser-Busch wants a monopoly on the North Florida distribution market, in which Maris enjoyed a 64% market share.

The war on HPV

A research work on a new vaccine that prevents cervical caner which is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection is reported. Two vaccines, manufactured by Merck and competitor GlaxoSmithKline, have shown remarkable results in clinical trials close to 100 percent protection against HPV 16 and 18.
