Debate about whether or not the Canadian government should provide day care subsidies is strong, and is fueled by social and economic factors. Services in different provinces are described. Single mothers and dual-career families discuss the difficulty of finding adequate child care.

Parole on trial: should convicted killers be allowed to rejoin society?
Article Abstract:
The National Parole Board was criticized during the 1980s for releasing too many violent felons. It responded to the criticism by cutting the number of full paroles granted from 1993-95 from 34% to 19%. However, many Canadians still believe the parole system is too lenient.
