Limited success

Article Abstract:

Rupert Murdoch's son, Lachlan, was promoted to senior executive vice-president of his father's News Corp organization during the week of Feb 15, 1999. Lachlan Murdoch will have responsibility for US print operations and will maintain his position as chairman and chief executive of News Ltd, which is the Australian and Pacific branch of Murdoch's publishing and media business. Some analysts claim Lachlan Murdoch was a capable executive at News Ltd but showed no outstanding ability before he was promoted to senior executive vice-president.
